FINGERPRINT PROCEDURE
(Effective May 24, 2010)
As a courtesy to our residents, the Riverton Police Department is able to do non-criminal fingerprint requests for residents who need federal or out-of-state employer record checks, and volunteer EMT or firefighter checks. Residents should bring the fingerprint cards given to them by their perspective employer/agency.
Criminal history record checks for firearms applications, alcohol beverage licensing, paid or part-time firemen, volunteer employees, and local ordinances requiring fingerprinting must be done via electronic live-scan fingerprinting at MorphoTrak, the New Jersey State Police vendor for fingerprint services. Residents should contact MorphoTrak directly to schedule an appointment; however residents must FIRST come to the Riverton Police Department to get the paperwork and identification number needed to schedule an appointment. If you show up at MorphoTrak without the proper documentation, you will be turned away. If you go to MorphoTrak without an appointment, you will either be turned away or charged an additional fee.
Once you have the Riverton Police Department paperwork, the quickest and easiest way to schedule an appointment is via the instructions at MorphoTrak website at www.bioapplicant.com/nj. Website scheduling is available 24 hours per day, seven days per week.
Applicants who do not have Internet access should call MorphoTrak at the company’s toll-free telephone number, 1-877-503-5981 (Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 12:00 noon). Questions about this procedure should be directed to the New Jersey State Police at 609-882-2000, Extension 2918.
